Victoria Day MeMe

Posted on May 19, 2008. Filed under: Meme | Tags: , , , |

It’s Victoria Day, honoring the Queens birthday, and the end of the May long weekend in Canada.  Although I am currently enjoying a mountain view in B.C., I wanted to share a bit of the culture of the mother country with you. Your assignment, should you choose to accept, will be to find and post an artistic British export on your own space and link back here for all to enjoy.

I stumbled onto your brilliant wrtings last night - I see that you are friends with Laurayne & Ferd! Yup, I’m one dem widows whose married a widower! My new husband and I “honeymooned” on the cruise ‘bago! Even though I was urged by some older YWBBers that our happiness may not be welcomed on that particular cruise. I didn’t relocate to Canada (would LOVE to though) but landed in Central Texas.

My friend Dennis (British) posted this on his blog and, well, what do ya know? It fits the bill for your export request!

Wow. After viewing Patti’s video of the Two Ronnies, I realized I’ve completely overlooked an artistic genre that Britain has exported ’round the world. How could that be?

Anyone remember all those hours watching Benny Hill?

And who could forget the Monty Python troupe? Especially the many, many bits from the Holy Grail. Bits like The Black Knight and the tauting Frenchmen.

“Your mother was a hamster. And you father smelled of elderberries!” Pfffffffft!
